UPDATES regarding the Irish Scones
The following updates were initially sent via email to everyone who ordered scones through Shopify. For some reason not everyone received them, so they are being posted here as well…
1ST UPDATE:
Hello everybody from Mary O’s here in New York City!!!
Special, special, special, special thanks for all your outrageous and heartwarming support.
For the last ten days I have cried and laughed with so many people, along with being up to my eyes in flour. I have tossed and turned in my head over and over on how I should write this email. To put words on what I want to say is pretty difficult for me because honestly, there are no words, so for now I just want to tell you all that your scones will arrive no matter what!!!
I have a plan in my head that will involve the very special community that I am so lucky to have around me. I need a few more days to figure out the logistics and make sure everything I am thinking is possible. I want to make sure that everybody gets the scones exactly how they would get them before all of this happened, genuine and from the heart because that is how it has to be. All the regulars once again at Mary O’s have come together and brainstormed. The 4,000 bags of flour are being shipped from Ireland and will sail in the coming weeks, the "gargantuan ovens" at my sons’ high school/church kitchen are being accessed. As Ciara McQuillan from The Irish Times newspaper has written “with her band of helpers, and goodwill in spades, orders will be winging their way to tens of thousands of homes across the United States in no time at all”. So many people who have asked to volunteer will be welcomed with open arms. Mary O’s Traditional Irish Music Sessioners will fill the air with live music during each and every baking session. More updates to follow!!!
So please bear with me, my gut feeling tells me the end result is something everyone will really enjoy and will not want to miss. Please, if someone needs their order ahead of others do not be afraid to email me and let me know. I am very happy to try and make that happen. Also, if you have emailed and I have not got back to you quick enough, I apologize.
Finally, I want to just make sure all of ye know that myself and everyone at Mary O’s are completely in awe of the magical Brandon Stanton!!! Christopher, my 16 year old son, said he should be canonized and we all here totally agree. We just love him so so much!!!

PS Erinn says HI!!! She has started drawing already - she thinks she’s internet famous, it's so fun!!!
This Irish baker sold $1m worth of her scones in 24 hours. Now she just has to make them.

Mary O’s Humans of New York Scone Baking Extravaganza will begin September 13th and run through November 15th.

There will be another update shortly with regard to how people can volunteer and continue to be a part of this extraordinary community that has grown outrageously over the last four weeks at Mary O’s.
